One of the features of the Multidisciplinary Success Center on the Liberal Arts Campus is our Presentation Practice Room. In this space, students, faculty and staff can use a built-in camera and sound system to record videos, podcasts, and more.

In September 2019, the Presentation Practice Room was updated with new technology. Previously, it required users to bring a blank DVD to record to. With the new version, all that is needed is a USB drive. But with these upgrades, a new user guide was needed in order for Long Beach City College students and staff to be able to easily learn how to use the system.

I was asked by the Long Beach City College Media Technology Department to create a user guide that would contain thorough and clear instructions for the new tech. I met with the technician who installed the system, asked questions about functionality, took photos and gathered screenshots, and got to work!

What you see below is the one-page (front and back) user guide I created for the space. The user guide for the prior system was a lengthy packet and it was important to me to fit in the essentials in as succinct a way as possible.

Since the upgraded system and user guide were put into place, students are utilizing it more than ever before! We can't wait to see what awesome projects they come up with next.
